In the Business Intelligence (BI) Team Lead role, you are the technical anchor of our data operations, with a primary focus on automating Salesforce workflows and data pipelines. You won’t just be overseeing the team; you’ll be in the trenches with them. We are looking for a hands-on leader who can balance individual contribution in configuring Salesforce Flows, scripting automations, and managing data integration with dedicated mentorship. Your goal is to ensure high-quality, reliable automations on core sales and customer success metrics, and to make our data processes faster and smarter through automation.
From building process automations within Salesforce to mentoring analysts on data engineering solutions, you will be the engine that keeps our operational data accurate and our business processes efficient.
You don’t need to know everything about our industry (even we don’t!). But the work is challenging and fast-paced. So, we’re looking for someone with a curious mind, a strong drive to make things happen, and a passion to keep improving yourself and those around you.
What you will do:
Team Coordination & Mentorship
Guide the flow: Manage the daily workflows of BI analysts, ensuring they are building scalable automations.
Level up the team: Mentor junior analysts on technical skills, including SOQL querying, CRM data modeling, and automation logic—helping them move from "pulling data" to "engineering data solutions."
Build the culture: Foster a team environment that values curiosity, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
Hands-on Execution & Analytics
Build and maintain: Build and maintain automations using Flows and Validation Rules to eliminate manual data entry and ensure process adherence.
Guardian of truth: Own the accuracy and consistency of key Salesforce dashboards and reports, ensuring stakeholders trust the numbers for critical decision-making.
Make it actionable: Translate complex data findings into clear, tactical recommendations for department stakeholders.
Tool Integration & Automation
Lead the integration: Lead the API-level integration of Salesforce with other key business tools (Marketing Automation, ERP, Data Warehouses) to create a seamless, automated data loop.
Build efficiency: Write and maintain scripts (SQL/Python or low-code tools) to automate data quality checks, flagging anomalies without human intervention.
Identify bottlenecks: Identify bottlenecks in current operational processes and deploy automated solutions (e.g., auto-routing leads, auto-calculating commission fields) to increase speed and accuracy.
Stakeholder Collaboration
Filter the noise: Serve as the main technical point of contact for incoming data requests from Sales, Success, Marketing, and Finance, primarily focusing on CRM-related metrics.
Drive value: Clarify requirements with stakeholders to ensure the team is working on high-value tasks, not just ad-hoc requests.
A Technical Anchor: You are highly analytical and love diving into the numbers yourself, especially complex CRM data and automation logic; you don't just delegate.
A Player-Coach: You enjoy lifting others up, teaching them how to leverage Salesforce data and build scalable solutions, and watching them grow.
Pragmatically Focused: You actively seek out automation tools and scripting solutions to see if they can actually save you and the team time and effort.
Clear Communicator: You can explain complex data lineage and Salesforce reporting constraints to non-technical stakeholders clearly and constructively.
Agile and Resilient: You thrive in fast-paced environments and can balance your own project load while unblocking teammates.
3–5 years in BI or analytics, with at least some experience successfully mentoring peers or juniors.
Deep expertise and hands-on mastery of Salesforce Automations (Flows, Validation Rules), Dashboards, and the underlying data structure (Objects, Fields, and Relationships) is mandatory.
Proven experience in integrating data between Salesforce and other analytical/operational tools.
Mastery of general BI tools (Metabase, Tableau, or similar), with proven experience in connecting to and leveraging Salesforce data.
Practical interest in automation scripting/tools with a mindset for efficiency.
Excellent stakeholder management skills—you know how to ask the right questions to get to the root of a data request.
A growth mindset and appetite for experimentation.
