In the Business Intelligence (BI) Team Lead role, you are the technical anchor of our data operations. You won’t just be overseeing the team; you’ll be in the trenches with them. We are looking for a hands-on leader who can balance individual contribution with mentorship—someone who ensures high-quality reporting while helping us adopt new AI-driven workflows.
From executing complex deep-dives to mentoring analysts on SQL best practices, and experimenting with practical AI (like vibe coding) to speed up our processes, you will be the engine that keeps the BI team running efficiently and accurately.
You don’t need to know everything about our industry (even we don’t!). But the work is challenging and fast-paced. So, we’re looking for someone with a curious mind, a strong drive to make things happen, and a passion to keep improving yourself and those around you.
Team Coordination & Mentorship
Guide the flow: Manage the daily workflows of BI analysts, ensuring the timely delivery of accurate reports and insights.
Level up the team: Mentor junior analysts on technical skills (SQL, visualization) and critical thinking—helping them move from just pulling data to interpreting it with rigour.
Build the culture: Foster a team environment that values curiosity, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
Hands-on Analytics & Execution
Lead by example: Act as a primary individual contributor for complex deep-dives, focusing on cohorts, segmentation, and unit economics.
Guardian of truth: Ensure data integrity and consistency across our core dashboards (e.g., Metabase, Salesforce).
Make it actionable: Translate complex data findings into clear, tactical recommendations for department stakeholders.
AI & Process Improvement
Innovate practically: Experiment with and implement practical AI techniques (e.g., vibe coding for faster query generation, automated data summaries) within the BI team’s workflow.
Kill the busy work: Identify bottlenecks in current reporting processes and propose automated or AI-assisted solutions to save time.
Stakeholder Collaboration
Filter the noise: Serve as the main technical point of contact for incoming data requests from Sales, Success, Marketing, and Finance.
Drive value: Clarify requirements with stakeholders to ensure the team is working on high-value tasks, not just ad-hoc requests.
How you will need to be:
A Technical Anchor: You are highly analytical and love diving into the numbers yourself; you don't just delegate.
A Player-Coach: You enjoy lifting others up, teaching them how to fish (or write better SQL), and watching them grow.
Pragmatically Curious: You don't just read about AI tools; you try them out to see if they can actually save you time and effort.
Clear Communicator: You can explain technical constraints to non-technical stakeholders clearly and constructively.
Agile and Resilient: You thrive in fast-paced environments and can balance your own project load while unblocking teammates.
What you need to have:
3–5 years in BI or analytics, with at least some experience successfully mentoring peers or juniors.
Strong hands-on SQL skills and mastery of BI tools (Metabase, Tableau, or similar).
Practical interest in AI applications (vibe coding, agentic automation) with a mindset for efficiency.
Familiarity with Salesforce, Hubspot, and Chargebee is a strong plus.
Excellent stakeholder management skills—you know how to ask the right questions to get to the root of a data request.
A growth mindset and appetite for experimentation.
